We'll go over how to choose cottages, preparing for your weekend away, planning for special moments and more to make your birthday an amazing one. Why Oneida Lake Is Ideal for a Birthday Weekend Getaway ------------------------------------------------------- For a milestone birthday, Oneida Lake offers the perfect mix of scenery, relaxation and time together. The setting feels celebratory on its own and works just as well for a group of friends as it does for a multigenerational family. Flexibility is a key part of a lake weekend. Guests can participate in shared activities or enjoy some downtime alone. The group can stay for multiple nights, so there's no need to set up a single arrival time. Water sports and boating can be the highlight of the weekend, but there's plenty to do on land in the area. Enjoy picturesque sunsets, popular restaurants, live entertainment and a historic amusement park. Your birthday group's possibilities are endless! Choose the Right Cottage Setup for Your Birthday Group ------------------------------------------------------ There's a lot that goes into selecting the right lodging. Luckily, The Cove has multiple options for your group to ensure your loved ones are comfortable. ### Two-Bedroom Cottages for Smaller Birthday Groups A two-bedroom cottage at The Cove is best for couples, a small group of close friends, immediate family and guests prioritizing an intimate getaway. ### Three-Bedroom Cottages for Families and Larger Groups Consider a three-bedroom cottage for larger families, groups that include children and groups that want flexibility with their sleeping arrangements. ### Reserving Multiple Cottages Your group can [book multiple cottages at The Cove](https://www.covesylvanbeach.com/gatherings/celebrations) so guests can have their own space, and early risers can be separated from the group's night owls. Plus, families with kids can follow their own schedule. The main celebration can still be organized around one “main” cottage. You can take a cruise on your pontoon boat or enjoy downtime by the pool. Later in the day, catch the sunset over the lake and make memories by the fire pit. Oneida Lake Birthday Weekend Planning Checklist ----------------------------------------------- ### Guest and Lodging Planning For the best lakeside birthday weekend, make sure to: - Finalize the approximate guest count. - Separate overnight guests from potential day visitors. - Choose cottage sizes. - Ask The Cove about multiple-cottage placement. - Identify accessibility or mobility needs. - Confirm pet accommodations if needed. ### Activity Planning When it comes to activities, reserve water sports rentals in advance. Decide early on who will be operating your complimentary pontoon boat so they can complete the required New York State boating course. Lastly, make a rainy-day plan just in case the weather isn't on your side. ### Celebration Planning Confirm what can be decorated at your cottage before getting started. Avoid loose decorations or materials that can enter the lake. Plan to spend time around the grill or by the fire pit, and determine when and where speeches, cake cutting or gifts will happen. Most importantly, don't forget to take a group photograph.
