The Cove at Sylvan Beach [At The Cove](https://www.covesylvanbeach.com/destination-cove/at-the-cove) / 5 Reasons to Host Your Next Corporate Retreat at The Cove at Sylvan Beach 5 Reasons to Host Your Next Corporate Retreat at The Cove at Sylvan Beach ========================================================================= An ideal venue for a corporate retreat must do more than just provide beds or a meeting room. A strong location supports strategic work, informal conversation, shared experiences and time for people to recharge on their own. The Cove at Sylvan Beach is a premier cottage destination where teams can stay close to each other, work in a relaxed lakeside environment and fit recreation opportunities into the itinerary. 1. The Lakeside Setting Creates Space to Reset & Refocus ------------------------------------------------------------ A work retreat deliberately takes teams away from their normal corporate environment, creating a mental separation from the everyday routines and habits of time in the office. Oneida Lake is a picturesque destination ideal for breaking up the status quo for your team. The waterfront setting, cottage community, outdoor spaces and recreation options are perfect for the objectives of your retreat, such as leadership alignment, annual planning, team reconnection, problem solving and more. 2. Flexible Cottage Accommodations Keep Teams Together & Comfortable ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The cottages at The Cove are a meaningful alternative to both a traditional hotel room block and one oversized vacation rental. Kitchens create meal flexibility, living and dining areas support informal conversations and separate bedrooms provide privacy after a full day of group activities. Outside, each cottage at The Cove has a gas grill and a fire pit that are great for impromptu meetups and team bonding. Planners can inquire about reserving cottages near each other, helping group project teams, departments or leaders together while keeping the broader organization on one property. 3. Built-In Activities Make Team-Building Feel Natural ------------------------------------------------------ A corporate planner does not need to force bonding moments into a scheduled workshop. Shared experiences on and around Oneida Lake create natural opportunities for conversation and connection. There is a wide range of recreational activities available through Sylvan Beach Supply Co., located at The Cove. Teams can rent kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, water bikes and more. Some activities may require a separate reservation or fee. Plus, each cottage includes a complimentary pontoon boat for the duration of your stay. A balanced itinerary should offer active, social and low-key alternatives. A strong retreat does not require everyone to have the same interests or physical abilities. At The Cove, some team members can get out on the water while others stay back at the cottage. 4. Nearby Golf & Local Experiences Make the Itinerary More Flexible ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Planners should consider local golf outings as well as the world-class courses at Turning Stone Resort Casino. With three award-winning 18-hole courses and a pair of challenging 9-hole courses, Turning Stone provides championship-level golf at New York's most-awarded resort. There are plenty of other ways to spend downtime at The Cove, including exploring Sylvan Beach, dining by the water at The Lake House at Sylvan Beach, relaxing by the pool, fishing and biking. 5. Turning Stone Adds Meeting Space Flexibility When You Need It ---------------------------------------------------------------- While The Cove would serve as the home base for your corporate retreat, Turning Stone can complement the outing when the agenda requires a more formal meeting infrastructure. For example, a leadership team can conduct informal planning and relationship building at The Cove, [reserve a formal boardroom or presentation space at Turning Stone](https://www.turningstone.com/meetings) 20 minutes away, then return to Sylvan Beach for downtime.
